Poznań Poviat constitutes a local government community formed by the residents of 17 communes surrounding Poznań: Buk, Czerwonak, Dopiewo, Kleszczewo, Komorniki, Kostrzyn, Kórnik, Luboń, Mosina, Murowana Goślina, Pobiedziska, Puszczykowo, Rokietnica, Stęszew, Suchy Las, Swarzędz and Tarnowo Podgórne. Poznań Poviat is one of the biggest in the country and the biggest poviat in Wielkopolska. It covers and area of 1899,61 km2 and has 282000 residents. The communes of the poviat surround the greater Poznań area. The region is also a crossing point for major Polish transportation routes.
The Poviat is located in a direct neighbourhood of Poznań, the region's capital and an important trade, cultural and educational centre of Poland, which makes it the more interesting as an investment spot for entrepreneurs.
Tourist attractions
Poznań Poviat is a part of the Pojezierze Wielkopolskie (Wielkopolska Landlake) and is characterized by numerous postglacial forms, particularly on both sides of the Warta River. Forests cover up to 42 thousand hectares, with the biggest complexes: the National Park of Wielkopolska and landscape parks of Zielonka and Rogalin and Promno Primeval Forests, as well as 11 nature preservation areas.
Poznań Poviat is the proud location of many architectural monuments, such as castles, manor houses and churches. Anyone who wishes to get to know the Poviat, can go on a sightseeing tour along the Kórnik Route (around 80km long), marked with brown hexagonal boards, or the Piast Route or take a biking tour along the Poznań Poviat Bicycle Ring.
Some of the most interesting places include: the Kórnik castle and its Arboretum (in Kórnik commune), The Castle and Park Complex in Rogalin (in Mosina commune), residence of the Raczyńscy family and wooden churches in Kicin (in Czerwonak commune), Łódź (Stęszew commune), Rogalinek (Mosina commune), Wierzenica (Swarzędz commune) as well as mansions and manor houses in Pomarzanowice (Pobiedziska commune), Strykowo (Stęszew commune), Konarzewo (Dopiewo commune), Tulce (Kleszczewo commune), Iwno (Kostrzyn commune), Biedrusko (Suchy Las commune) or Jankowice (Tarnowo Podgórne commune).

The castle of Kórnik since 1964 has been the seat of the Kórnik Library of Polish Academy of Sciences which has one of the most valuable collections in Poland. In the collection one can find, among others, manuscripts of Adam Mickiewicz, Juliusz Słowacki and Napoleon Bonaparte. In the museum, whose exhibits were collected by Tytus Działyński, one can find national souvenirs, Old Polish portraits and other paintings, as well as archeological and ethnographic exhibits.

In the rococo-classical castle in Rogalin one find a fine collection of furniture, ceramics, sculpture and clocks. There are also numerous paintings, with a portrait of Stanisław August Poniatowski by Marcello Bacciarelli, The Virgin of Orlean by Jan Matejko and some of Jacek Malczewski's paintings. The gallery features works by European artists of the 19th and 20th century.

Numerous valuable exhibits are also gathered in the Museum of Agriculture in Szreniawa (Komorniki commune), Museum of Nature and Hunting in Uzarzewo (Swarzędz commune), Museum of Natural Sciences in Jeziory, Museum "Under the Totem"- Arkady Fiedler's literary workshop in Puszczykowo or in the Beekeeper's Heritage Park in Swarzędz. All of the most important monuments of Wielkopolska can be found in one place - in the Skansen Miniatur Szlaku Piastowskiego (The Piast Route Miniature Park) in Pobiedziska.

Poznań Poviat is also attractive for investors and entrepreneurs.
